1. Receiving Eplan Education student licences

I am a student/attend college or university and would like to use Eplan Education. How can I do this?

We are happy to provide you with an Eplan Education for Students licence. To get one, please register for our software here. You will be guided through the Eplan Cloud registration, where you can create your profile and choose which versions to download. 

We also recommend you watch our two-minute video on the installation and registration process for Eplan Education. It will guide you through the process step by step.

As a student/trainee, you also have access to an entire series of eLearning course materials on eplan.com.

 

What is included in the Eplan Education for Students software?

Our Eplan Education software includes the following products: Eplan Electric P8 for electrical engineering, Eplan Preplanning for technical preplanning, Eplan Pro Panel for panel design and control cabinet engineering in 3D, and Eplan Fluid for fluid-power systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling and lubricating.

Furthermore, access to the Eplan Data Portal is also included. Please note that you have a free choice in your username and passwords, but the former must be unique – as is typical for other forums. 

Please note that the Eplan Education for Students version of the program is limited to forty pages of schematics. 

Who is allowed to receive the student version of Eplan Education?

Fundamentally all students, college and universities attendees and trainees are entitled to receive an Eplan Education for Students licence. 

We would like to use Eplan Education in classes/for training. Are we allowed to do this?

The Eplan Education for Classrooms version is available for teachers and trainers for non-commercial teaching in educational institutions. If interested, please contact education@eplan.de.

In addition to classroom licences, you will also receive comprehensive teaching materials, training, and installation support.

May Eplan Education for Students licences also be installed on a company computer or school computer?

No, this is not allowed.

However, Eplan Education for Classrooms is available for instructors and trainers at non-commercial educational institutions and training departments. If interested, please contact education@eplan.de

2. Technical questions about installation and registration

How does registration work? What do I have to do?

We recommend you watch our two-minute video about installing Eplan Education and the registration process. It will guide you through the process step by step.

 

I need an older version, what should I do?

Our video tutorial, which you can find here, describes the steps for downloading the Eplan Education 2024 version.

Note: We always provide the latest 2 versions of our Eplan Education for Student software.

I registered but don’t know where the activation code is.

After registering, you will find your EID in the Eplan Cloud dashboard. Click on your name and the down arrow. Under Downloads, you will now see “Entitlement ID” - this is where you will find it.


If you still cannot find your EID in your account, please send an email to education@eplan.de.

During registration, a message appears that says I have already registered, but that is not the case. What can I do here?

In this case please send an email to education@eplan.de

I do not have a number on my student ID card. What should I enter on the registration form?

In this case please enter the number of your personal ID. 

My Eplan Education licence has expired, but I still need it for my education/training. How can I extend my licence?

It is not possible to extend a current licence. However, if you are still studying or in training, we can activate a new registration for you. In this case please send an e-mail, including your serial number (EPL …) to education@eplan.de.

I have an Eplan Cloud account already, how should I proceed?

You will need to log into your Eplan Cloud account. At the top right-hand corner, click the white arrow and on Downloads. Here you will see the versions and your "Entitlement ID" (EID).

If you encounter any issues here, please send an email to education@eplan.de.

I would like to install the most recent version of the software. How do I do that?

To use a new version of the software, you must register a new licence. Please follow the installation instructions (with the help of our video); download the most recent version of the software and install it.

If you have an older version, you will be able to log into your Eplan Cloud account and then go to the Downloads section to update to the latest version.

I have a new computer/re-installed my operating system and my Eplan Education student licence is no longer working. How can I transfer the licence to my new computer/the new OS?

Transferring the Eplan Education licence to another computer or to a new operating system is now possible. You can use the same information as before.

Your „Entitlement ID“ (EID) has to be unlocked for this („Rehost“) – please send an email to education@eplan.de with your Entitlemend ID (EID) and ask us to unlock for a new EID activation.

3. Other

Can projects created with Eplan Education be opened using Eplan Professional?

No, Eplan  Education uses its own data format and it is incompatible with the professional version of the software.

Can I use my Eplan Education for Students licence at home to continue to work on tasks/projects from school?

Yes, because Eplan Education for Students and Eplan Education for Classrooms are completely compatible with each other.

However, please note that student licences are limited to forty schematics pages, therefore larger projects may not be able to be opened. The Classroom licences are unlimited in this respect.

Can users of Eplan Education access the Eplan Data Portal?

Access to the Eplan Data Portal is also available for users of the Education version. Here your username and password can be chosen at will, whereby the former must be unique. You can find instructions for use in the Data Portal’s help section.

How and where can I get help with problems?

There are multiple sources for information. You can find answers to various questions in our FAQs. For getting started with the software and learning how best to work with it, take a look at the eLearning course materials. Our website also has a general overview of Eplan Education. Should you have other questions, please feel free to send us an email at education@eplan.de.

Can students/trainees access Eplan Support?

The Eplan Education for Students version of the software does not entitle users to use the hotline or provide any warranty. Therefore access to support is not possible.

However, your instructor/teacher does have the possibility of using Eplan Support as part of their subscription to Eplan Education. 

Where do I find study materials?

As a student/trainee, you do have access to a large number of eLearning course materials.

Do you offer certifications for students/trainees?

Yes, we offer an EPLAN Certification for Students/Trainees or arrange such with an independent certification partner. Students at vocational and technical schools (or similar) can take the exam to become an Eplan Certified Technician (ECT), while college students can become an Eplan Certified Student (ECS).
